If you don't do anything about it and the valve is stuck open (as they do when they fail) you will destroy the O2 sensor after a short time. I took off the valve (near the firewall) and made a gasket to seal the hole for the valve. Thay way no air gets into the system to burn up the O2 sensor. You WILL fail emissions if the O2 sensor is bad.
