I thought I was the only one pre-oiling my oil filters to get the pressure up sooner. It's a bit awkward for '99 models and beyond, due to the newer-fangled filter cartridges. Makes the job 10X messier. For me, the add'l paper towels I use to clean out the plastic cannister before loading a new cartidge filter almost offsets the environmental savings vs. the metal tossed w/ traditional all-in-one filter! I'll bet the avg. lube tech. doesn't as much as wipe the plastic cannister out (if they did, they'd probably put more dirt in anyway).
