Butchmen,
Not sure about the shudder. Could be warped rotors. My old rotors were warped and the shutter was intermittent. Your emergency brake shoes are probably shot. Even though they don't get used very much they eventually rust between the shoes and the pads causing the pads to fall off. Cheap set up in my estimation. They should be revitted. I believe the replacemtnes were $20 per set. Not cheap compared to other brake shoes.
