Computer Diognostic Systems S80 2000

It's a networked system. There are many control units all linked together through a network. I don't know if any scan tool would reveal codes, I'd imagine that some can as the state emisions people must be able to retrieve OBD2 codes by fed law but I'd bet that that's about it. I doubt one could clear any codes or diagnose much more than that.
A Vadis PC is the ONLY way one can DL SW from Volvos servers. I know that through Volvos site, they have a costly program for independants to buy info but I'm not sure if it's much use for newer cars that require Vadis.
The newer cars systems are not "user friendly" for anyone without a Vadis PC.
