Trunk misaligned after replacing hinges and struts 850

Hi! I'm back .. well it seems to me that when the shovel got in the way of the hinge-strut assy it did pull some of the sheet metal structure of the lid itself it happens alot with diferent makes .. it just make sense to me because you've already replace both hinges and two struts.. , I took alook to my 850 it seems that at the end of the hinge rear speaker deck side, there is not adjustment ( not like the 740's), so there is only four bolts that you can adjust at the other end of the hinge on the lid's side this bolts will allow you to move left to rigth (rear view) , in and out (top view), but up and down (side view) will not move that's why the tech couldn't align it .., so next thing to do will be to check for possibly smal cracks in the paint in the hinge mounting area at the lid ,that will confirm the problem, now considering that volvos 850 uses exellent primers and paints you probably won't be able to find any cracks ,next thing is to remove the lid flip it up side down put it on top of a lod tire big enough to hold the lid ,get a small block of wood (2x4) and hit it with a 4lb hammer being carful not to damage the back of the lid , now put back togeter and see if the gap has change if not repeat the process until you get the right fit .... I'know it sounds a litle difficult but it is not . I hope this will help you JOE ..
