Don't guess! 850 1996

It's very easy for a tech to lower that gas tank with the car on a hoist using a trans jack to support the tank so I highly advise getting it inspected ASAP rather than guess on your safety (and that of others nearby) knowing that you're now leaking gas.
There are sensors with screw type covers sealed by o-rings that can loosen and leak, vacuum and fuel lines, etc but I'd get it checked out now.
