No brake lights- fuse is OK, switch? V70-XC70 1999

Just reporting that the problem was the brake light switch. The part cost me $39.00 Canadian. It takes about 5 minutes to do the whole job. Just need to remove the trim panel that is at the drivers knees then follow the brake pedal shaft up until you see a black switch with a yellow connector attached just in front (closer to the driver) of the pedal shaft. Remove the yellow connector, pull the switch from the steel mounting location (takes some force) and then install the new switch. The switch works in the opposite direction than I was expecting. When there is no pressure on the pedal the switch is engaged and turns the lights off. When you press down on the pedal the switch loses contact with the pedal shaft and turns the lights on.
