A Different Sort of Antenna Question 850

Okay, my antenna has stuck before when cold, ice I guess? The weather warmed up and it came up to what I'm pretty sure isn't full extension (I've only had the car for a month so never seen it extended farther than it is now). And I saw another 850 with a similar height antenna, but saw another S70 with a much taller antenna. Is this what mine is supposed to look like too? I've seen pictures of the antenna in the IPD catalog and it looks like mine still isn't extending all the way. My radio reception is okay, but anyone have a pic of fully extended antenna, how its supposed to look.
