V70 reliability? V70-XC70 1998

I've owned my V70GLT for about 3 1/2 years (my first Volvo). I bought it with 32,000 and now it has 91,000. With my previous 1991 Honda Accord wagon as a 10 on the reliabilty scale, I'd rate my Volvo about an 8 considering all the extra stuff that can break and have broken since I've had it. Fortunately, I've been able to fix most of it myself. If I could afford a new V70 T5M/R or an S60 T5M/R I'd do it in a heartbeat. I've driven a new BMW 330ci with a manual transmission and I was NOT impressed. I don't get all the hype. Maybe its just me, and maybe I'm tainted, but I like my Volvo better, just wish it had a 5-speed.
