If it's only making noise when turned sharply, it might just be a simple matter of lubing the plastic stops on each control arm with grease.
To replace upper strut mount bushings, the struts must be removed and springs compressed. If you unbolt the top strut nut (easy with impact gun) and remove the plate with it still in the car, you can visually inspect that bushing if ever a suspect. The rubber becomes obviously bad when they go, either cracks or separated completely and it makes noise over bumps, not depending on steering wheel position (turns, etc).
