Im not sure what your asking, as far as the remote goes, it cannot be programmed if there is not continuity to all motors in the circuit. You must have the tailgate closed and the hood closed and the all the doors closed to reprogram it, but if you use more than one remote you must reprogram all remotes at the same time or only the one you program will work. If the tailgate lock motor is bad, it will not complete the circuit and you will not be able to reprogram the remote. You will have to repair the motor first and then program the remote, you can reprogram the remote yourself its a very simple process.
