850 stereo has punch, S70 doesn't....why? S70

Optional amp?

8" speakers?

Now we are getting somewhere! Ok, I thought the SC-816 was the 100watt 8 speaker stereo and thats it. I was not aware of a factory Volvo optional amplifier. Also, the 850 I am comparing this S70 too has Volvo speaker boxes on the package tray (hat shelf) but the S70 does not! I just thought that was a syling thing they did away with on the S70 models. The 850 and S70 speakers I have look similar from inside the trunk but do have different part numbers which again I had thought was do to car model changes.

So, how difficult would it be to add the Volvo amplifier and the 8" speakers?

By the way, this is a US market S70....

Thanks for the write up James. Very good! I appreciate someone that spends that kind of time and attention to detail. Do you have any pictures of the installed Volvo/Dyna speaker kit?
