Well, what I found disturbed me more than it comforted me...I got into the trunk to look for the ground wire, and I noticed a crack running through the body underneath the speaker, on the driver's side. It's been crudly patched up by bondo or something, but the car has clearly been in an accident (the car does have a salvaged title, but for the front, not the rear end). This probably explains why the trunk lock will only unlock the entire car, but not lock it back up. I guess where I'm going with all of this is that I think the lid was taken off/apart due to whatever accident the car might have been in. Therefore, whoever put it back on probably neglected to connect the grounding wire...However, in light of all of this, it might be possible that the wire isn't even there...which leads me to my next question: where EXACTLY am I supposed to look for this wire? Do I need to take off the carpet paneling on the lid? Where does it begin and what does it run through?? What does it look like exactly?
Thanks for all the input so far,
-the Captain
