Odometer failure 850

Tummydoor,
I just received a quote from a Volvo dealership to replace the speedo for $500.00. I was told the labor for removing the dash/cluster was over 3 hours and the part is $200.00 more or less. Did you have a speedo shop repair yours yet? If so, was it the plastic gear I have read about? What was your turn-key cost? Thanks for your input.
