Vitor, I neglected to mention that what you described was precisely the failure mode. A passenger tried to open the door, I realized it was locked, and tried to inlock it while he was "working" the handle. I DID see (and print) your detailed proccedure concerning the Red Evil Plastic Lever (REPL), and I am fairly certain that I will performing that repair very soon.
