So what would you buy... 850 1996

...if you wanted a reliable, functional-sized wagon with good seats. I'm probably too cheap for a decent E-class or 5-series and I trust the A6 less than the V70. As for new cars, I hear the Passat is pretty unreliable and that VW is particularly miserly about their warranties. Based on my experience, from that point down-market long trips become a misery.

Sorry to stray so far from Volvonics.
