The S60 is more complex technically BUT it's been a fairly troublefree car so far for any new model Volvo as it's based on the S80 but finally de-bugged compared to early S80s.
The C70 coupe (no longer made) has a known "weak" part problem with their window regulator assemblies and when it fails, it's costly to fix and getting the adjustments right (w/o wind/water leaks) is not an easy task for many techs. Otherwise it's similar to a S70. I'd never wish any C70 convertable to my worse enemy as the convertable top system is a nightmare when the start acting up, costly to repair out of warranty too. The convertables also have bad "cowl vibration" (steering shakes, etc) and there's no cure. For $50K, it's a joke IMO (yes, my opinion).
I'd opt for an S60.
