Car won't start S60

My s60 2.4 will not start, it cranks over fine but will not start. It starts and die if I spray some starting fluid into the intake, but it will only run for a few sec. and dies. My fuel gauge is shows a little above 1/8 tank and the low fuel light is not on. Any ideas out there. BTW- i did have an 850 that did a similar thing, but it was a stuck intake valve. Angd you could smell it was flooded.
