Good car? V70-XC70 1998

I bought a used 98 V70 T5 and it had 60k on it. It now has 110k, and in the few years that I have owned it, it has been a blast to drive. (The T5's go like hell...) Sports-car performance with a pickup-truck capacity. Really. I've hauled big-block chevy engines, complete transmissions, filled it to the roof with brush that was cut from my yard, and just last week had 14 bales of pinestraw crammed in there. (Not all at once - tho I'd like to watch you try!) And they do all this and look really nice, too.

Comes at a price tho - I've done the ABS control unit ($450), and the evaporator core ($1,700). Other than the usual maintenance items such as tierod ends, balljoints, tune-ups, brakes, etc - it's been a solid car. I've heard stories of the transmissions being bad, but generally only limited to the XC.

Depending on the deal, I'd say go for it. Just remember to FLUSH (not change!) the transmission fluid every year, and use synthetic engine oil and you should be a-ok.

Enjoy
