Not shiftless folks...... 850

Yeah, mine is a manual too. I ordered it in late 1997, so it's a manual T5 with cloth seats and the "sports suspension". Somebody at my church also bought a T5M about the same time I did (it's a huge church, I never figured out who). Or leased it, I didn't see it after about Y2K. They're around, I'd guess about 5% of Volvo's US sales.

Good of them to do this, Volvo that is. Honda or Chrysler wouldn't think it was worth the trouble. (Picture the Town and Country with the Viper V10 and the 6-speed .... or the Odyssey minivan with it's 240hp V6 and a 6-speed.....)

I don't have the statistics, but I'd bet manual tranny buyers hold onto their cars longer than the slushbox buyers. Reason I do is because, well, I ordered exactly what I WANTED (and still want) and it's still much cheaper to shotgun parts into it than it would be to buy or lease a new one. Or a BMW.

FWIW the 850 NA 5-speed is actually quicker than the 940 turbo automatic.
