The pass. side lo-beam headlight went out in my '94 855. Upon putting in a new bulb, I noticed that the plastic connector (w/two wires, onto which the bulb clips) was black and shorted-out-looking. Sure enough, wiggling the wires caused the headlamp to come back on. Now it works intermittently.
The local dealer was unable (unwilling?) to sell me just the connector, which is like a $2.00 part. "For that year, you have to replace the entire headlamp assembly." Cost: $350. NOT!!
Can anyone point me towards where I can get one of these connectors? I seem to remember reading a Brickboard post a while back indicating that the same two-prong headlamp connector was a common Volvo part and used on other sensors, etc.
If true, maybe I could just order the same part by a different name.
Thanks much.
