UPPER TAIL BRAKE LIGHT 850

Hello.. I'm from Canada but the US laws are similar.
I assumed you were from the US. The 850's in the west have the 3rd brake light on the lower part of the rear window on the deck lid. Comes from the factory stock that way. Even with the purchase of the factory spoiler with the 3rd brake light built in it still has the 3rd brake light in the rear window.
Volvo moved the 3rd brake light to the ceiling liner after the 850s.. ie s70. I think to avoid the 3rd brake light in the spoiler on selected models.

Anyways. You should be able to clip your onto the headliner in yours running the cable down one of the panels to the rear. I'll look at my sisters s70 next time i'm there. I'm not sure if part of the headliner will have to be cut or not. And the LED models should last longer than the incadedecant type. I had the led style on my Honda and never had a problem with it.
