Traction Control Question for newbie 850

You should be able to defeat it. On my 98 when it is defeated the
dash lights up (orange color) with:

TRACS
OFF

Perhaps that particular bulb is burned out on your dash? Do you
see that when you start the car and have the ignition key in the
position where all dash lights are seen?
