As far as I know, WD-40 is a solvent not a lubricant. I would prefer to replace the motor with the fan cage anyway. Applying lubricant may stop the squeak for a short time. With all that effort to remove the glove compartment, metal knee bloster, etc. I prefer to replace the whole item.
