fog light diming 850 1993

I never paid that much attention but the right fog light (somehow) became completely detached and dragged along the ground while driving. It could not be repaired, so at a cost of $150.00 I bought a new one. I then noticed that the drivers side was dimmer (not much, but still), but I assumed it was because the other side was brand new. Maybe that isn't the case after all. Perhaps it has something to do with drivers-side visibility/glare? Don't know--just guessing.

Is that "Mr. Walla" as in Walla Walla?
