Driver's door will not unlock with remote. V70-XC70 1998

This happened to my 98 V70 on the passengers. I took the door liner out and it looked like a pin had broken off the plastic actuator. I was able to get it to function by screwing a small (#4) cap screw in to the hole in the moving part of the actuator so that the screw head pushed up the mechanism when energised. This worked but I had to remove the return spring.
