Front strut mounts 850 1997

I replaced the coil springs on another vehicle and what I did to compress the springs was to put a floor jack under the control arm (after the car was lifted with another hydraulic jack and supported by jackstands), remove the bolts from the top, and then slowly lower the jack until all tension is removed and it is hanging free.

Is there enough drop on the control arm to enable this on this car?
