Anybody know what is the "norm" for the 80K mile service--anything unusual or more advanced than a DIY'er can handle?
Also, my front pads squeal like a pig (almost all the time) and it's getting a bit irritating! They are aftermarket rotors (Balo) with more than 80% left, and the PBR pads seem to stop reasonably well.
Should I:
1) Change pads ONLY--and if so, does it shorten the rotor life while the new pads "match" or "bed" into the rotors? If so, then I'd rather not do that, and I'll "live with it as is",I heard about Raybestos "Quiet Stop" pads--do they work?
2)Take the pads out and re-apply "antisqueal" paste, and see if that improves things?? (seems to be the easiest method)
3) OTHER ideas?? Again, I don't want to machine the rotors ( and lose valuable brake life) just to eliminate the noise...
Thanks in advance!
