FYI,
I have a 98 and it being a turbo has some challenges , but with the above procedure (from under the car)I used a ext.with a "crow's" foot and it came right off. (I also hit it a few times with an air hammer to loosen it up.) you can also heat the O2 bung up with a torch to loosen it. NOW the hard part I had was those darn connectors. (See vol...speed site for some more help.
