a/c problems v70 xc awd S70 2000

I live in a northern state but it does get into the 90s here occasionally in summer and we don't see compressor problems here. Now, I suppose that in hotter climates like southern Arizona (for example), they might see more heat related problems that we don't.
Can you guys find good used compressors? That'd be alot cheaper and they're easy to replace.
