Rack system V70-XC70 2000

I just replaced the throttle control unit on my 2000 XCV70 last month and now this month the steering rack needs replacing, estimated at 1000.00. I have enjoyed this car but this is ridiculous, I thought it would last much longer than 93,000 miles. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks
