Some other possible 850 problems that could cause a stall would be the fuel pump relay and the ignition switch. It makes a difference what the conditions are when it stalls (such as only when the AC is on) and the way it stalls (such as it stumbles and slowly dies or just suddenly switches off).
I don't know much about tracking down the fuel pump relay on the 850 but the ignition switch is an easy troubleshoot. While idling, wiggle the key around and see if you can get it to stall. Its an easy repair and well documented on the following site: http://www.volvospeed.com/bay13.htm
