I left my rear main leaking for 7 months! Till I got ound to repalcing it last weekend (it took me 13 hours......)

Mine was leaking quite badly, and id lose oil, but I kept topped up. I dont think the seal with just 'blow' one day, they just drip and drip and drip.........

You should remove your flame trap if car has done more than 40k miles. Probably wont hel- now, but will do if you get round to having rear main replaced
