1. Volvo doesn't recommend flushing the tranny, but most experienced folks will suggest doing it every 30,000.
2. Volvo doesn't recommend flushing the cooling system either. People disagree on this one. The old rule of thumb was to flush every two years, but modern formulations can go longer. A reasonable interval may be 3-5 years, or whenever you have to change the thermostat, water pump, hoses, etc.
3. Volvo does recommend bleeding the brake fluid every two years. Most other manufacturers do not have this requirement, but Volvo's ABS systems, especially the earlier ones, can be sensitive to excessive moisture in the fluid (which happens naturally over time). I recommend you follow the two year maintenance, and don't mess with brakes.
