Hey Jimmy:

I have a 98 V70 standard transmission and tow a pop up camper no problem. I have even dragged the trailer around the hills of Cape Breton without any difficulty.

Buy the Volvo signal light harness. It is more expensive than after market but simply clicks in place saving you on labour. My hith is a "Hidden Hitch" class II. It looks great on the car, meaning you cannot see it with the draw bar removed.
