I am actually considering purchasing a leather kit for a 850 base wagon and from my understanding of the original volvo leather (what I have been told), that section is actually a leatherette or vinyl. I would take it to a local auto upholstery shop (call a dealer and ask who they use for repairs). They can generally fix things like that for reasonable prices and it will look great. That is what all the used car dealers do!
