The '99 S80s had ALOT of SW improvements and I'd assume that your dealer has done all of them but....? If that's even questionable, there are several TSBs with detailed info and they can check current ECU SW PNs to see if the car has the upgraded SW for both engine (fuel/ign) and trans.

They should be able to duplicate the problem too, even have a tech take the car home if need be (we do that for intermittant, hard to duplicate problems).
If it's as obvious as you say, they should be able to duplicate that. Can you duplicate the problem if you go on a test drive with their master tech (not an rookie lube tech)?
