Painted them with Ford Engine Red, a high-temp ceramic spray paint in a can. This $3.58 trick is by far the most commented-on feature of my car. (Nobody notices the Michelin Pilots or the boost gauge!) To do the job right, you will have to remove the calipers, otherwise you'll get paint on the backs of the pads.

Getting the calipers off isn't a big deal, but I waited until it was time to do a brake job and had a more urgent reason to remove them. For painting, a little patience is required - I hung the calipers by a wire from the suspension spring, wirebrushed them until they were as clean as I could get them, masked out everything in the vicinity, and appled four coats about 15mins apart. Between coats, I cleaned the brake dust off the inside of the alloys - a place that never gets cleaned. I touched up just prior to reassembly with a small cheap small bristle brush. I sprayed the paint from the can onto the brush and daubed it on. I just touched them up this weekend - a year after I first did painted them. The job held up well, and cost me $2,996.42 less than a set of Brembos.
