Turbo cool down time? S80 2002

Warm-up, zero. The oil pump pressurizes the turbo line immediately....but you should be using synthetic (Mobil1, Amsoil). Better flow characteristics and thermal properties.

Cool down / spool down cycle. Not absolutely necessary any longer. The ECU manages the turbo so it (they) will run a lot cooler than the older, purely mechanical setup. Volvo turbos are also water cooled, as they have been for 15 years or more. Nevertheless, immediately after a long highway run, I give my car a minimum of 30 seconds to let the oil and water carry away some of the excess heat. Can't hurt.
