AC compressor 850 1994

Hi
Hi Peter and all

My car: 850 T5 1994, European, I don't know if the American version is diferent.
Living from born in the noth of Spain ( cold weather ) up to January, and with any AC problem. From 2003 january in Madrid, center of Spain and with a very hot summer.

The compresor had overtemp switch embebed in the rear side. I bypassed it, and after this weekend test the problem is not fixed, wiht hight temp the clouth is disengeged.

I put two voltage test, one before and other after the black box, start the engine and switch on the AC. The voltage readed are: before 12.62, after 12.58.

After 15 minutes working the voltage was quite similar. So is not a funtion of this device to reduce de clouth current after a few seconds.

The voltage drop is not enought to be a diode in good condition, and there is a low probability that a diode fail in a shortcircuit and full current way, but could be.

After voltage test points was ready, I do not reach the compressor failure to read the voltage at this moments. When I catch I will post the result.

Today I have not a clear theory, my black box cuold be a NTC with a sharp characteristic curve, a died diode, a temp microswitch like one that i found to protect a window motor in a 360 GLE volvo, or nothintg.

I am very happy to read that mounting a new design of clouth the problem could be fixed.

Good luck and regards.
