you need to jump the connectors in the wire harness that plugs into the switch, jumping the unplugged switch will do nothing. have you checked the connections/wires on the clutch to see if there is 12volts to the clutch, if there is voltage there then the clutch/or compressor may be bad.

also make sure you are jumping the low press switch and not the high press.
