98 overheating (no coolant light comes on but there is coolant in there) S70 1998

what about the coolant temp sender?
this was bad on mine and caused the temperature to fluctuate up and down for a month and then eventually tripped the CEL. Dealer charged me $280 to diagnose and fix.
