Hi,
I got the same problem. Replace the oil cap gasket and after 2-3 gasket replaced, I change the cap itself. Dealer told me that metal pin on the cap can get loose and did not do the job as it suposed to. Since then, it's better but I always got a little leak... I got a 850 94 253000km and i'm pretty sure I got compression in the crankcase and the oil cap has to work more. Also, the flame trap need to be clean; a clogged flame trap can cause too much pressure in the crankcase making the oilcap leak more that usual. BTW, I would very appreciate if you can send me that "exploded view" of the breather system. I dont have such diagram and might help prevent leak or clogged elbow or line. If you can send it digitally (a scanned version or photo) sent it to bruno_champagne@yahoo.ca.
Hope this help,
Bruno
