Antenna toggle S70 1999

Hello all:

Just purchased a 1999 T5 and I love it. But, I want to put in an antenna toggle. I've read all the posts about the factory switch and I am ready to buy one, but the only extra spots I have for the switch are on the LEFT side of the steering column. The pictures I have seen show the switch on the on the right side. Will the wiring reach from the back of the stereo, under the steering column to the left side of the wheel?

Any experience in this matter.

Thanks to all of you for your posts. I feel like I know my car inside and out after only one week.
