odometer setting to miles 850

I had this problem with my 95. I was told that it can't be fixed with the scan tool and I would have to get a new odometer. Including instrument cluster pull-out etc. they quoted me a few hundred dollars. I just got used to kilometers. Not worth the cost of the fix to me.
