Aren't you talking about the Fuel and exhaust system...to be Idle Air control valve issues? Not trany? Anyway, with Haynes manual in hand, the code for the Idle air conbrol valve fault is 2-2-3 with all three types of engines and systems made on your model car...the Jetronic (non-turbo 20 -valve engine...a microprocessor controlled fuel injector system) the Fenix system (10 valve non-turbo) and the Motronic system ( turbo, 20 valve engines). So, if you were getting 3-2-2 and/or 3-2-3 the dealer/repair shop didn't find your fault codes but a different one. I'd take it back and say that the repair they did 3 weeks prior didn't solve your problem. Give them hell!...but also give them your codes. By the way, the only code I find that you came up with is 3-2-3 on the Motronic system and that means "malfunction indicator lamp signal fault." A bad CV joint isn't going to show up as a fault in your fuel/exhaust system nor does it have anything to do with your transmission. If it's clicking, you should have that repaired too.
