Transmission not shifting during acceleration..no codes. 850 1995

Is the orange arrow light on the dash flashing? The orange
arrow indicates a transmission fault. When the transmission
detects a fault it locks into 3rd gear (called "limp home mode").

You can read the transmission error codes on a 95 from under the hood.

A common transmission problem is the PNP switch. It often acts up on
a cold morning and will light up the up arrow. http://www.volvospeed.com
