Had the same problem on my '96 850 T. I found the hose disconnected at the top intercooler connection, just under the radiator shroud. It's where the white nylon tube plugs into a rubber hose. You can find the white tube routed behind the left headlight near the left hood latch- follow it toward the radiator.
