Yep, I have the same problem, when the cup holder is out its almost imposible to comfortably shift the manual 850!
I use the pocket in the driver door but im allways careful not to slam the door and have Pepsi all over the place!!!
The cup holders in my 960 where much better and it was so smooth and the dashtop so flat you could rest your cup of tea on there and drive to work without spilling a drop (I learnt that trick when I used to run a Bentley 8!!!!!)
