I don't think it would add any that you would notice. The intake system
is able to flow enough air for the turbo engines and I suspect it is over
designed for the normall-apspirated engine.
Affect on engine longevity is debatable (and often is).
Volvo has dded variable valve timing, a 5 speed automatic (with lower
first gear) and other updates to the 5 cylinder engine as it matures.
Those are all expensive compared to improving the intake system. If the
intake limited performance Volvo would have modified it since that is
'easy horsepower' compared to the other changes they have made to get
more power.
